The Finance committee shall oversee the financial activity of the congregation, prepare and develop the congregation’s
annual operating budget, and make recommendations to the Congregation Council regarding management of the
congregation’s financial resources. The Finance committee shall provide regular reviews of the congregation’s financial
statements including identification of significant variances from the operating budget. The Finance committee shall make policy recommendations to the Congregation Council regarding accounting, bookkeeping, authorization of expenditures and overall financial safeguards and security of congregation assets.
The Finance Committee plays both a responsive and fiduciary role in providing fiscal responsibility for how Prince of Peace funds are spent for our mission work. Working with all other church committees, the Finance Committee helps maximize the impact of congregational giving.
