Matrix Campus Ministry is a partnership between five area ELCA congregations, including Prince of Peace, who have come together to create a new way to do ministry with young adults in the greater Kalamazoo area.
Students share their gifts and passions with the church, and receive a small stipend for their work. Matrix helps them build intergenerational relationships, and provides them supervision for their internship projects, as well as mentors in their chosen fields. We accompany them during this transitional time between participation in specialized youth ministry that most youth experience during their primary school years, and participation as adults in a multi-generational congregation. Additionally, students have opportunities twice per month to come together as a Matrix community, to share a meal together and discuss their progress within the congregations.
