When will we gather in person indoors for worship again?
Here are the most recent changes we’re making for the health of our staff and community:

  • The office will be closed to the public except by individual appointment for the forseeable future in compliance with the MDHHS orders.
  • Tamara will still be working in the building during regular office hours.The rest of the staff will be working from home as much as possible.
  • Any meeting or group gathering that can be virtual is asked to use Zoom. Contact Tamara (secretary@popportage.org) or Mike (volunteer@popportage.org) for assistance in scheduling Zoom meetings.
  • Livestream worship will continue at 10:30 AM on Sundays. Participants who help lead in the sanctuary will receive more detailed information when they sign up.
  • Food distribution, which happens mainly outdoors, will continue as scheduled.
  • You can still pick things up or drop things off, but please call first so Tamara knows to expect you.
  • We will continue to follow state guidelines and re-open for small groups as soon as possible.

Because we know so many of you are missing the opportunity to worship together in our space, we have also decided to open the sanctuary by appointment to individuals or households who wish to come and pray quietly during the day. Our building use guidelines (don’t come if you aren’t feeling well, wear a mask at all times, etc…) still apply. Contact Tamara to schedule a time. Currently the timeslots are available during office hours. 

How do I reach out if I need help?
If you need help getting groceries, prescriptions, or other supplies or would like to have a Wilderness Worship box delivered, you can contact Volunteer Coordinator Mike Whately directly at volunteer@popportage.org or by calling his cell.

If you need financial assistance or meal delivery, contact Pastor Rachel directly. Her number is in the directory. You can also reach out by e-mail.

If you would like to make a financial donation and aren’t sure how to navigate online giving or have questions about making a donation to a specific fund (like the Good Samaritan Fund), contact Bookkeeper Sarah Maurer directly at bookkeeper@popportage.org or by calling her cell.
